Journalist Ruslan Kotsaba, who was arrested for criticism of mobilization, became Ukraine’s first prisoner of conscience for five years.

This is stated in the report of Amnesty International.

February 7 last year, freelance journalist and blogger from Ivano-Frankivsk Ruslan Kotsaba was arrested after he had posted a video on YouTube calling for immediate cessation of the armed hostilities and urging Ukrainians to refuse mobilization.

He was kept in custody and accused of “treason” and “obstructing the legitimate activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine” on March 31, 2015.

The trial has not yet been completed.
