Russian strikes killed three civilians in Ukraine on April 29

As a result of shelling by Russian forces on April 29, 2026, three civilians were killed in the Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions. Additionally, more than thirty people were injured, with casualties reported in the Kherson, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Odesa regions, according to the National Police.

The victims of Russian shelling on April 29 were:

  • An elderly woman from one of the villages of the Pokrovsk “hromada,” a local government area that includes one or more nearby settlements, the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast;
  • A woman from the Liubomyrivka hromada;
  • A person in Druzhkivka, the Donetsk Oblast.

In the Kharkiv Oblast, nine civilians were injured due to Russian strikes, specifically in Petrivka, Chuhuiv, and Velykyi Burluk.

At least seven civilians were injured in the Kherson region, where the Russian military struck the regional capital and settlements in the rest of the oblast. Among those injured in Kherson are two female medical workers, at whose vehicle the Russians directed a drone.

In addition to them, four more civilians who were injured by Russian strikes days earlier were included in the daily report for the oblast.

Three civilians each were injured due to Russian strikes on April 29 in the Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk Oblasts, two more in the Sumy region, and one more person in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

To provide background, on April 28, the Russian military killed five civilians in Ukraine with shelling.

In other news, during a US Senate hearing, Head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine has said that Russian leader Vladimir Putin is assisting Iran in conducting its war, The Guardian reported. The general said that Russia is helping Iran in its war against the United States but declined to provide further details, citing the public nature of the hearing.

Committee chairman, Republican Senator Roger Wicker, agreed.

“There’s no question that Vladimir Putin’s Russia is taking serious action to undermine our efforts for success in Iran,” he said.

The Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the X stated that Belgium plans to join the Enlarged Partial Agreement on the Special Tribunal for the Investigation of the Crime of Aggression of Russia against Ukraine.

Belgium will become the 24th country to announce its decision to join the agreement. The document provides for the creation of a tribunal that will be empowered to hold Russian political and military leaders accountable for the crime of aggression against Ukraine.
