Russians deploy military helicopters near civilian areas in temporarily occupied Crimea
The Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea reports that Russian Armed Forces are stationing military helicopters near residential buildings in temporarily occupied Crimea.
The Mission emphasised that the Russians continue to militarise the Crimean Peninsula. They are using the civilian population of Crimea as a human shield for themselves.
Specifically, Russia has placed military helicopters on sites in wastelands adjacent to residential buildings.
Furthermore, Russian forces have deployed various air defense systems on the outskirts of settlements in the villages of the Dzhankoi district.
To provide context, experts claim that the Russian Federation is successfully promoting its narratives in Western media, shifting topics and distorting the perception of its aggressive war to blame Ukraine. The experts showed this spreading with specific examples.
The Russian Federation uses temporarily occupied Crimea as a military foothold for its military aggression from the south of Ukraine, shelling Ukrainian cities from the peninsula. Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly stated the importance of de-occupying the Crimean Peninsula.
Earlier, due to combined Russian Armed Forces attacks, the coalition of human rights organisations, “Ukraine. 5 a.m.” appealed to partner countries to intensify their actions for providing air defense systems that should protect civilians and objects under the protection of international humanitarian law.
