Death toll due to Russian attack on Kharkiv region on 31 May rises to nine
The death toll from the Russian attack on Kharkiv’s Novobavarskyi Ddistrict on the night of May 30-31 has risen to nine.
Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration (OMA) reported that fatalities include three women aged 39, 68 and 86 and four men aged 28, 41, 52, and 64.
Search operations continue, and according to rescue workers, two more women may be under the rubble. Emergency workers found the bodies of two more civilians on Saturday afternoon. They are being identified.
By way of background, Russians fired five S-300/S-400 anti-aircraft missiles on Kharkiv from Russia’s Belgorod Oblast on the night of May 30-31. They destroyed a five-story residential building and injured at least 25 more.
Russian Armed Forces also killed at least five civilians and injured three others in their attacks on Donetsk Oblast on May 26, 2024, according to Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Oblast Military Administration.
