General Prosecutor’s Office lacks investigators for special investigations – Horbatiuk
The Department of Special Investigations of the General Prosecutor’s Office lacks investigators and prosecutors.
As reported by Serhiy Horbatiuk, the Head of this department, during the broadcast of “112 Ukraine” TV channel.
“There has been a layoff in the department, which has a negative effect on the results of the investigations their quality and pace… Today we feel critical shortage of investigators and prosecutors in many cases”, – he explained.
“The layoff was up to 60 people. We hired 10 before the New Year, but it does not solve the issue”, – said Horbatiuk.
He is convinced that the reduction of staff was unfounded.
The Department of Special Investigations investigates high profile cases, particularly crimes against Euromaidan activists.
Earlier, Serhiy Horbatiuk reported that only one prosecutor of the General Prosecutor’s Office systematizes crimes during the Euromaidan for the International Criminal Court.
