The cases of 6 police officers, who were persecuting activists of Euromaidan, were transferred to the court

On January 19, General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine submitted to the court indictments against six former Kyiv policemen for crimes against the Euromaidan activists.

As reported by the press service of the General Prosecutor’s Office.

“Indictments were submitted to the court against the former First Deputy Head of the Police Department of Dniprovskyi District of Kyiv, against the Head of the Investigation Department, against the Deputy Head of the Investigation Department and against the four investigators of the same department. Indictments were submitted on the facts of abusive exercise of power, forger of the evidence of the proceedings, illegal detainment and criminal prosecution, together with the officers of the procuracy authorities, of 10 innocent persons for alleged involvement in the riots of February 18, 2014, in Kyiv”, – said in a statement.

Previously, Prosecutor of the Kyiv Prosecutor’s Office and two investigators of the bodies of internal affairs were also indicted on these crime episodes in separate proceedings. Indictments were transferred to the court.

Also, the Deputy of the Prosecutor of Dniprovskyi District of Kyiv was declared wanted and investigating judge gave permission for his arrest.
