In occupied Sevastopol, officers of Russia’s FSB (Federal Security Service) abducted Serhii Hryshchenkov. For several weeks, nothing has been known about his fate, and there is no official information regarding his legal status, as reported by “Tribunal. Crimean Episode.”

The man was taken away in an unknown direction on May 6. According to “Tribunal”, this is the third known case within a month.

The number of enforced disappearances in Crimea is steadily increasing, despite public outcry and the evident illegality of such actions by security forces,” the statement reads.

Activists explained that unlawful deprivation of liberty, which automatically stems from the fact of enforced disappearance, constitutes a war crime. Those responsible for organising and carrying out abductions will be held accountable before an International Tribunal.

Earlier, ZMINA reported that in the village of Chornomorske in occupied Crimea, security forces abducted 62-year-old ambulance paramedic Tamara Chernukha.

The woman disappeared no later than February 5, and to this day, Russian security forces officially deny having information about her legal status or whereabouts.

Chernukha’s relatives contacted the police after her disappearance. An operational-investigative group arrived to inspect the woman’s residence. However, during the inspection, a representative of the group received a phone call, and law enforcement ceased their activities. Unofficially, they informed the relatives that Chernukha was detained on suspicion of “state treason”.
