Poroshenko dismisses infamous judge Tsarevych
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree on dismissal of judge of the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv Oksana Tsarevych for breaking the oath.
“The High Council of Justice, having considered the disciplinary proceedings initiated against judge of the Pechersk District Court in Kyiv Oksana Tsarevych, decided to recommend that the President should dismiss this judge,” the press service of the President reports.
The submission of the High Council of Justice specifies that actions of Tsarevych were biased during the consideration of cases against Maidan activists.
“The essence of these actions proves the judge’s violation of justice principles, particularly, the rule of law, fair trial, and respect for human rights and freedoms,” the statement reads.
The High Council of Justice believes that these circumstances indicate that judge Tsarevych broke the oath that obliges a judge to objectively, fairly, impartially, and independently to administer justice, being subject only to the law and the principle of rule of law.
As a reminder, Tsarevych is also suspected of committing a criminal offense under Part 2 of Article 375 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely delivering of deliberately unjust judgments on holding people administratively liable.
