FSB says it detained another “Ukrainian spy” in Crimea
The Federal Security Service of Russia informs about the detention of a former serviceman of the Black Sea Fleet. He was detained in the annexed Sevastopol on suspicion of treason.
TASS, referring to the FSB’s Public Relations Center, reports that the detained spied on for Ukraine and transmitted secret data about the fleet.
“On November 22, the Federal Security Service in Sevastopol detained a former serviceman of the Black Sea Fleet the captain of 2nd rank in reserve Leonid Parkhomenko. He, on request from the Central Intelligence Agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, collected and transmitted secret data about the Black Sea Fleet activities,” TASS reports.
FSB initiated proceedings on suspicion of treason. Investigation continues.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has not yet commented on the issue.
On November 10, FSB reported about the arrest of three “Ukrainian saboteur”: experts of the Nomos center Dmytro Shtyblikov and Oleksiy Bessarabov, and the inhabitant of Crimea Volodymyr Dudka. A court in Sevastopol arrested them for two months. Security service allows they had ben planning terrorist acts in Crimea.
Four days later, FSB released a video of their interrogation. The three confirmed they are Ukrainian saboteurs. Meantime, they did not tell about planning actions in Crimea.
On November 21, the Kyiv district court of Simferopol arrested two months two more persons in this case – Oleksiy Stogniy and Glib Shabliy.
In August, FSB informed about “terrorist acts”, which were allegedly prepared by Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
Two Ukrainians were arrested, namely Evgen Panov and Andriy Zachtiy. Ukrainian Ministry of Defense stated that both of them do not have any connection with Ukrainian intelligence.
According to the human rights defenders, Panov was tortured few days when he confirmed on a video his “involvement” in the intelligence actions.
