In the Kherson region, postal workers were rescued from under Russian shelling
Police in the Kherson region assisted two Ukrposhta employees in evacuating from an area under Russian military shelling.
Video screengrabOn the morning of January 24, 2026, Russian military forces launched a drone strike against a postal vehicle in the village of Taras Shevchenko, Beryslav District.
The Ukrposhta officials were not injured in the strike and managed to hide, but the car was heavily damaged. The postal workers could not drive back because of the Russian shelling, so they turned to the police for help.
As a result, a 52-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man were brought to a safer settlement where they met with colleagues.
To provide background, frontline regions suffer mainly from Russian drone attacks, where, in this way, Russia interferes with evacuation and terrorizes people, which can be a crime against humanity, the UN believes.
Last year, the Russian Federation’s army began equipping itself with cassette missiles capable of flying to distant cities, such as Kyiv or Kremenchuk.
