Stories by Oleg Sentsov presented in Moscow
The Stories book by Oleg Sentsov was presented at the Ukrainian Embassy in the Russian Federation in Moscow.
The presentation was attended by representative of the Ukrainian Ombudsperson in Russia Vladimir Shreidler, who was presented with a book signed by editor Halyna Liubchych.
The book was published by the Largus Ukrainian publishing house.
This is the first book of stories by Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov. Currently, he is writing a novel. The stories were written long before his arrest.
Half of the proceeds are spent to pay the lawyers of Sentsov and help his children.
The book release was initiated by Ukrainian film producer Hanna Palenchuk and film director Oles Sanin.
2,000 copies of the book were already sold after the book had been presented in Kyiv on July 8. Later, the publishers released the extra issue.
As reported, August 25 Ukrainians Oleg Sentsov and Oleksandr Kolchenko were sentenced to 20 and 10 years in prison respectively for “terrorist activities” in the territory of the annexed Crimea. They and other persons involved in the case, Gennady Afanasyev and Alexey Chirniy, had been abducted in the occupied Crimea in March last year and transferred to Russia, where they were tried as the citizens of the Russian Federation.
