Amnesty International urges to secure Ukrainian lawyers
The Ukrainian authorities must secure lawyers of Russian servicemen Oksana Sokolovska and Valery Rybin, new lawyer of Alexander Alexandrov, who replaced the slain Yuri Hrabovsky.
This is said in the statement of Amnesty International.
“March 25, the body of Ukrainian lawyer Yuri Hrabovsky was found at about 100 km away from Kyiv. The Ukrainian authorities must secure his colleague Oksana Sokolovska and a new lawyer, who replaced Yuri Hrabovsky, and to take all measures so that they can work freely,” reads the statement of the organization.
The organization also calls for an immediate and impartial investigation into the murder of Hrabovsky.
As a reminder, lawyer Yuri Hrabovsky was found dead on March 25.
Hrabovsky went missing in Odesa on March 10. Then the police opened a case over his murder. Later, the Prosecutor General’s Office voiced the versions of disappearance of the lawyer. According to one of them, a group of people brought Hrabovsky to Kyiv by force, where they took a big sum of money from the safe box at his workplace. At the same time, one of the accomplices left for Egypt with the phone of Hrabovsky using it to post messages on lawyer’s Facebook page.
Colleague of Hrabovsky – lawyer of Russian serviceman Evgeny Yerofeyev, Oksana Sokolovska – has repeatedly reported about the threats made against her. The court granted her protection.
