Water reserves in Yasynuvata almost exhausted – OSCE
Shelling of the water filtration plant near Yasynuvata town, Donetsk region, testifies to the serious aggravation of the conflict.
This was stated by Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE SMM to Ukraine Alexander Hug while inspecting the Donetsk filtration plant, which is located between Avdiyivka and Yasynuvata, the towns separated by the contact line in Donbas, UNIAN news agency reports.
“Shelling of the water filtration plant between Avdiyivka and Yasynuvata testifies to the serious and substantial escalation of the situation,” Hug said.
According to him, the water reserves in Avdiyivka are almost exhausted, and if this situation continues, the water shortage will put people’s health at serious risk.
“The aimed fire and shutdown of the water filtration plant will affect the people in Avdiyivka, Yasynuvata and Donetsk,” Hug said.
He added that the security situation did not allow the workers to carry out repairs at the plant.
As reported, the Donetsk water filtration plant stopped to work a few days ago due to armed provocations.
