On the morning of August 10, Russian law enforcement officers conducted a search in the house of a large Muslim family in the Novoklenove village in Bilohirsk district of annexed Crimea.

As reported by Crimean lawyer Emil Kurbedinov on his Facebook page.

According to him, the search is conducted in the house of a large family.

“A new search in the house of Crimean Muslims! In Bilohorsk, Novoklenove village, Chekova Street, 26. There are at least four children in the house”, – Kurbedinov wrote.

Refat Chubarov, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, and Crimean Tatar activist Zair Smedlya have earlier reported that a street is blocked in Novoklenove village.

“Armed Russian occupants are blocking one of the streets in the Uch Koz (Novoklenove) village in the Karasubazer (Bilohirsk) region. It would seem that another search and another detention is taking place there”, – Chubarov wrote.

As a reminder, on August 9, Russian law enforcers have conducted a search in the house of Crimean Tatar Umer Emiramzayev, resident of the Kirovske settlement. He felt faint during the search and was hospitalized. He has not been charged yet.

Mass searches of the houses of independent journalists, social activists, activists of the Crimean Tatar national movement, members of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People and Crimean Muslims with suspected ties to the “Hizb ut-Tahrir” organization, which is banned in Russia, became more frequent in the Crimea after the Russian annexation.

As a reminder, Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has officially announced the February 20, 2014, as the beginning of the temporary occupation of the Crimea and Sevastopol by the Russian Federation. On October 7, 2015, Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine, signed the corresponding law. Key international organizations, including the UN General Assembly, condemned Russia’s actions and called the occupation and annexation of Crimea as illegal. Economic sanctions were imposed against the Russian Federation. Russia denies the occupation of the peninsula and calls it a “restoration of historical justice”.
