Russian strikes took the lives of six people in Ukraine on February 2

As a result of Russian shelling over the course of February 2, 2026, seven civilians were killed in the Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions, and at least 26 more were injured, including in the Sumy and Cherkasy Oblasts, according to the National Police.

The victims of enemy shelling on February 2 were:

  • a father and son in Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, in the Donetsk Oblast, whose home was struck by a Russian aerial bomb;
  • a person in Mykolaivka;
  • a female resident of the village of Novoosynove;
  • an elderly man from the Dnipropetrovsk region;
  • a woman from Veselyi Hai, whose house was targeted by a Russian drone.

Additionally, in the Kherson Oblast, news emerged of the death of a man that occurred on January 31. The body of the 40-year-old civilian was found in Antonivka. He died after the Russian military dropped an explosive device on him from a drone.

In addition to those killed, Russian forces injured many civilians during the 24-hour period of February 2. At least seven residents of the Kherson region were wounded, including a utility worker from Bilozerka who was targeted by a drone; the rest were residents of Kherson. Russian forces struck the regional center with artillery, drones, and multiple launch rocket systems.

The daily report also included three people who were injured in the days prior.

In the Donetsk Oblast, which was struck nearly 800 times on February 2, four people were injured. Among them were a mother and two children from Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, whose home was hit by a Russian aerial bomb in an attack that killed the father and the eldest son.

A person in a vehicle in Mykolaivka was also injured when Russian forces struck the car with a drone, killing the driver.

In the Kharkiv Oblast, Russian strikes injured five people in Derhachi and Novoosynove.

Four civilians were injured in the Sumy Oblast on February 2, three elderly people were wounded by Russian strikes in the Zaporizhzhia region, and two others were injured in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
