Russian strikes killed seven civilians in Ukraine on 7 June

Russian military strikes on June 7, 2026, killed seven civilians in the Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions, and injured nearly 50 others, including in the Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv Oblasts, according to the National Police of Ukraine.

Fatalities from the Russian strikes on Sunday included:

  • Five people in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
  • A man in Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.As a reminder, the Russian army is intensifying its attacks on Ukraine. As a result, the number of casualties in the first four months of this year alone is 21% higher than in January through April 2025. Compared to the same period in 2024, casualties have surged by 93%.
  • One person in Yasnohirka in Donetsk Oblast.

In addition to those killed, dozens of civilians were injured. The highest number of casualties was reported in the Zaporizhzhia region, where 14 people were wounded. They included a teenager from Balabyne and many elderly residents.

Another 10 local residents, including a teenager, were injured by Russian military strikes in the Sumy Oblast.

In the Kherson Oblast, Russian shelling injured six people on Sunday. They included a police officer and a gas station employee, who Russian forces targeted with drones. Russia has increasingly targeted gas stations near the front lines this year. ZMINA previously reported on what is known about this Russian military tactic.

Additionally, the daily casualty report for the Kherson Oblast included a woman who was injured by Russian forces in Kherson on June 6.

Seven civilians were injured by Russian strikes in the Kharkiv Oblast on 7 June, while four people were wounded in both the Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk Oblasts.

In the Chernihiv Oblast, Russian military strikes injured two civilians.

Russian forces have intensified their attacks. As a result, the number of people killed and injured during the first four months of 2026 was 21% higher than in January–April 2025. Compared with the same period in 2024, the number of casualties increased by 93%.
