Ukrainian pilot, MP Nadiya Savchenko believes that she will return to Ukraine “dead or alive.”

This is said in the text of her speech, which she planned to deliver in court on March 3 but was not given time to do so. The speech was later published on Facebook. Her lawyer Nikolai Polozov confirmed the authorship of Savchenko to BBC Ukraine.

Savchenko stresses that she does not plead guilty, and if the court delivers a guilty verdict, she will not lodge an appeal as she does not believe in a Russian court.

What kind of a fair trial may be here? There is no trial in Russia! There is a farce of Kremlin’s puppets and I consider it absolutely unnecessary to waste time of my life on taking part in it!” reads the speech of Nadiya Savchenko.

After the court in Donetsk, Rostov region, Russia, had not allowed her to say the last word, she stated she would launch a dry hunger strike in protest.

However, according to her speech, Ukrainian citizen intends to launch a hunger strike in ten days after a verdict is delivered.

No appeal will be lodged. It will be as follows: after the verdict is delivered, I will continue the hunger strike for another ten days, till the sentence comes into force, regardless of translation of the verdict into the Ukrainian language, because they know how to play for time with translation,” the pilot says.

“I will announce a dry hunger strike in ten days. Then Russia will have no more than ten days to bring me back to Ukraine, where I was abducted from! And I do not care how they will prove it!” she adds.

Savchenko also mentions President Petro Poroshenko, who, according to Nadiya Savchenko, promised her mother to return her daughter to Ukraine for May holidays yet last year.

Well, I hope he has enough diplomatic skills to reach agreement with one idiot in Russia…” she notes.

Earlier, during the debate between the prosecution and the defense, the prosecutors asked to sentence Nadiya Savchenko to 23 years in a colony.
