Council of Europe mission visits Akhtem Chiygoz
Akhtem Chiygoz, the defendant in the “case of February 26,” Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, has met with Gerard Stoudmann, the head of the Council of Europe’s human rights mission to Crimea.
They talked for about an hour and a half. They were assisted by an interpreter, offered by the occupying power of Crimea, said Chairman of the Mejlis Refat Chubarov.
“Special Representative of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Gerard Stoudmann, who now stays on the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea with the permission of the Ukrainian state, has met with Akhtem. They had a conversation for about an hour and a half… Akhtem met with the Special Representative of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, and the conversation was being interpreted by an interpreter of the occupiers… Akhtem’s English was not good enough to fully control the conversation.
