Procession of Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchate not let in Boryspil, Kyiv region

About 400 participants of the “sacred procession for peace”, organized by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, were not allowed to enter the town of Boryspil, Kyiv region.

 

Almost 200 protesters blocked the entrance to the city, Hromadske TV reports.

In particular, the “procession” opponents pelted the pilgrims with eggs and garlic. One of them also tried to snatch a cross, but he was detained. More than 100 National Police officers and Kyiv police officers ensured safety of the procession participants.

The procession organizers decided to bypass Boryspil and went directly to Kyiv.

As reported, the all-Ukrainian sacred procession started from two sites – the town of Svyatogorsk in Donetsk region on July 3 and the Pochaev Lavra in Ternopil region on July 9.

According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Defenсe Ministry of Ukraine, the Russian security services plan to use the sacred procession of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate in order to organize provocations

About 4,500 police officers will ensure safety during the sacred procession organized by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate in Kyiv.
