Anti-Discrimination Campaign at UCRAZYANS Festival
At the Sofiyska Square in Kyiv on April 25th, the online edition Platforma, with the support of the international organization Pact, held a festival of social innovation called UCRAZYANS.
This event is dedicated to the “crazy” Ukrainians, who, for the last year and a half, have been going against fate and have done the seemingly impossible: overthrowing the tyrant, arming the army, helping each other, and struggling to ensure that, in the end, everything will be okay.
The Human Rights Information Center presented the Festival’s Anti-Discrimination Campaign.
Visitors could get bracelets to show their support for the campaign “Discrimination limits. Counteract!,” along with fortune cookies containing notes about the various ways they may discriminate – because of language, age, religion, or ethnicity.
Interested persons were invited to draw a picture of how they see the problem of discrimination. The drawings are displayed on the campaign’s website and you can vote for the most original drawing. A prize will await its author.
The presentation organizers presented a video about discrimination. Spectators often reacted with surprised laughter at the ridiculous prejudices which exist in society and often result in discrimination on one basis or the other.
