Russian drone attack kills civilian in Zaporizhzhia region’s frontline community
Russian forces launched a strike on a frontline community in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast on April 1, 2025, killing one civilian, according to Ivan Fedorov, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.
“One person has been killed. These are the preliminary consequences of an enemy drone strike on a frontline community in the Zaporizhzhia region,” Fedorov stated.
He further condemned the attack, calling the Russian Federation a terrorist state, which once again targets civilian infrastructure and kills peaceful Ukrainians.”
On March 31, Fedorov reported about Russian attacks at civilian facilities in one of the frontline hromadas in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. According to the official, Russians killed a 66-year-old woman and injured five other civilians.
They also destroyed and damaged residential buildings and social facilities.
Previously, outgoing German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock backed US mediation efforts in talks between Russia and Ukraine but warned that Vladimir Putin could mislead the West. Baerbock said that an honest dialogue cannot occur when a ceasefire is constantly linked to new demands and concessions.
