The Ukrainian Air Force reported shooting down 79 of the 88 Russian drones launched. Meanwhile, a Russian ballistic missile and five drones struck six locations.

In the Kharkiv region, Russian drone strikes left one person dead and three injured as of the morning. One of the strikes hit a multi-story building in the city of Kharkiv.

In the Sumy Oblast, Russian shelling killed a 13-year-old boy, his father and his grandmother. The boy’s 31-year-old mother, his 10-year-old brother and his 13-year-old sister have been injured, the Sumy Oblast Prosecutor’s Office reported.

“Russian forces attacked the house of a large family in the Znob-Novhorodske hromada in the Shostka District with a drone at around 04:50. A 13-year-old boy, his 36-year-old father and his 73-year-old grandmother have been killed as a result of the attack,” the statement reads.

In the Zaporizhzhia Oblast, morning reports indicated one woman was killed and two people were injured.

Russian forces also injured two civilians in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

Separately, Russians struck the Panama-flagged cargo ship Victress in the Black Sea, killing the vessel’s 58-year-old cook, an Egyptian national. The Ukrainian military evacuated eight of its crewmates.

Russian forces also struck Palau- and Belize-flagged ships. No casualties were reported, but the vessels sustained damage.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that Russian military strikes on civilian ships in the Black Sea require a decisive and principled response from the international community and the International Maritime Organisation.

To provide background, Russian forces launched more than 2,000 drones and nearly 90 missiles at Ukraine over the past week.

Human rights organisations and Ukrainian authorities emphasise that structural economic pressure remains a key tool to halt such atrocities. They urge every nation and individual government worldwide to strictly enforce global sanctions, close existing regulatory loopholes, and completely sever remaining commercial and technological ties with the Russian Federation. Civil society groups stress that any continued cooperation by foreign businesses directly contributes to the resources Moscow uses to sustain its ongoing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Ukraine.
