Russians execute civilian woman in Donetsk Oblast – Ukrainian Ombudsman calls for international action
Russians killed a woman on the outskirts of the village of Terny in the Donetsk Oblast on November 10, 2024, according to the Donetsk Oblast Prosecutor’s Office and Ukraine’s Human Rights Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets on social media.
Operational data indicates that that Russian soldiers opened fire on a local resident walking near destroyed houses on Terny’s outskirts, near Lyman city. The woman died at the scene.
Law enforcement officials are currently working to identify the victim and establish all circumstances of the incident. The Security Service of Ukraine’s Main Directorate in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts is conducting the pre-trial investigation, under the oversight of the Donetsk Oblast Prosecutor’s Office.
Lubinets has notified the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross about the international crime.

In separate incidents, as Donetsk Oblast Prosecutor’s Office reported, Russian attacks claimed two more civilian lives and injured eight others in Donetsk Oblast on November 13, 2024.
A Russian strike on Shevchenko village in the Volnovakha district killed a 32-year-old woman and left another woman, 36, with a closed head injury and shrapnel wounds.
In Novotroitske, Pokrovsk district, a Russian drone struck a civilian vehicle, killing a 63-year-old local resident and injuring two others – a 59-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man.
Russian forces also conducted three airstrikes on Kostiantynivka using FAB-250 bombs with UMPK guidance modules, targeting a residential area. The attacks injured four residents – two pensioners aged 68 and 71 and a married couple aged 37 and 48 – causing blast injuries, shrapnel wounds, lacerations and abrasions. Russian artillery fire in Predtechyne village, Kramatorsk district, wounded one more civilian on November 13.

In addition, Ukraine has repeatedly called on countries worldwide to impose restrictive sanctions on the Russian Federation to compel it to comply with international law, including UN Charta.
