Ukrainian courts free five children who collaborated with ‘DPR’ militants
Since the beginning of 2016, seven teenagers have been tried for involvement in illegal armed groups in Donbas.
Spokesperson for Donetsk region prosecutor’s office Olena Nadeyeva announced such statistics, Hromadske radio reports.
According to her, the cases of teenagers, who guarded the premises captured by militants and stood at checkpoints, were submitted to courts. The court released from criminal liability five out of seven children.
“They confessed to the crime, sincerely repented and actively contributed to the investigation,” Olena Nadeyeva assured, adding that they were from 14 to 17 years old.
As reported, 50 children have been killed since the onset of the armed conflict on the territory of Donetsk region. 138 children have been injured. 20 children have lost their parents.
