The so-called “Donetsk People’s Republic” has adopted a “law” on “nationalization” of all Ukrainian property which is located on the territory under its control.

This is reported by Gazeta.Ru media outlet.

As reported, “the law” was adopted by the “People’s Council” on June 24. The law was read out by representative of the chairman of the People’s Council of “DPR” Svetlana Yegorova and it was immediately passed in the first and second readings.

The law declares all the property of the State of Ukraine, located on the territory of the ‘Donetsk people’s Republic’ including the Donetsk railway as well as all the companies, banks and organizations, where the state of Ukraine had its share, to be the property of the ‘DPR’. In addition, the law defines the procedure for nationalization of the technological complexes, which are of strategic and defensive importance for the ‘DPR’,” the article reads.

A source of Gazeta.Ru in the “DPR’s government” commented on the foregoing process: “A list of companies can be understood after studying the decree on sanctions. All who have not been registered in the republic may also fall under nationalization.”

“The decree on sanctions” covers the same list of people, who had been previously denied entry to “DPR.” Donbas oligarch Rinat Akhmetov tops the list. The list also includes 49 people more, who were most significant business and political players of Donbas in recent decades.

Now it is clear that this list was compiled to cover owners of all the Donbas technological chain: steel, coal, chemical, machine building, food plants. The list ranges from director of Horlivka chemical giant ‘Stirol’ Mykola Yankovsky to owner ‘Olimp’ trademark, vodka king Pavlo Klymets,” the newspaper writes.

According to Gazeta.Ru, four names have been recently removed from the list: leader of Ukrainian Communists Petro Symonenko, former Deputy Prosecutor General under Yanukovych regime Renat Kuzmin, “coal General” Yukhym Zviahilsky, and former head of Donetsk region Tax Administration Oleksandr Papaika.

However, the “DPR”-controlled sites do not report on adoption of such a law. Instead, they inform about adoption of another law, the law on the notary office, which, according to Gazeta.Ru, was voted after the “nationalization law.”
