The High Council of Justice of Ukraine has opened three disciplinary proceedings against Kyiv city judges, who fined the Automaidan activists.

According to the press service of the High Council of Justice, the relevant case files were submitted to the Council by an ad hoc commission on verifying the judges of courts of general jurisdiction.

The cases were opened against judge of the Shevchenkivsky District Court in Kyiv Anzor Saadulaev, judge of the Obolonsky District Court Vladyslav Deviatko and judge of the Dniprovsky District Court Nelli Lastovka.

When considering the disciplinary cases, the High Council of Justice plans to clarify the legality and grounds for imposing the administrative penalties on the Automaidan participants by the mentioned judges within the period from November 2013 to April 2014 in the form of deprivation of the right to drive all types of vehicles,” the statement reads.

At the same time, the High Council of Justice refused to open a disciplinary case at the report of pensioner Repikhovych against judge of the Novobuh District Court of Mykolayiv region Natalia Vasylchenko. In October 2012, the judge fined pensioner UAH 510 for a call not to vote for the Party of Regions.

The High Council of Justice recognized that the judge had committed a violation but noted that the time limit, within which she could have been punished, had expired.
