Journalist receives gunshot wounds in Odesa

The crew of local Channel 7 was attacked in Odesa.

The incident occurred near the channel’s office in Staroportofrankovska Street. A journalist received gunshot wounds as a result of the attack.
“His jacket saved him and case shot did not hit the vital organs. The cameramen have facial injuries,” the article reads.
It is indicated that the attackers arrived by dark gray Honda. During the attack, they used a pump-action shotgun and rubber-bullet handguns. In addition, a correspondent and two cameramen were beaten.
The injured journalists were hospitalized.
According to the channel, one cameraman has a fracture of a wall of maxillary sinus, the second one has broken nose and a concussion, the journalist has bullet wounds to the head and back.
As the CEO of Channel 7, Mykhailo Malyshev, said on the air of 112 TV channel, the unknown persons came to the premises where the channel was located and asked to call cameraman Dmytro Bondarenko. At first, they talked and then started to fight.
According to Malyshev, one of the attackers said: “No need to sort out, take out a pump.” One of the men took a pump-action shotgun out of the car and opened fire on the journalists.
