Filtration station of Avdiivka, which was shelled by militants, is running out of drinking water.

As reported by Pavlo Zhebrivkyi, the Head of Donetsk regional military and civil administration, on his Facebook page.

“Water in Avdiivka reservoirs is left for a maximum of two supplies. Over the past 6 days w ater to the city was supplied on schedule. We are preparing the city for autonomous water supply”, – he said.

“We placed additional 5 tanks with a capacity of 1 cubic meter in private sector. Adventist Humanitarian organization ADRA has bought 6 tanks with capacity 1 cubic meter. 7 more tanks are provided by Czech humanitarian organization “People in Need”. Currently, 34 water tanks for drinking waters with capacity of 1 cubic meter are installed in schools and other social facilities of Avdiivka”, – said Zhebrivkyi.

According to him, emergency response center is considering the possibility of purchasing another 10 tanks with capacity of 1 cubic meter for drinking water and State Emergency Service of Ukraine is prepared to relocate two water carries, which have capacity of 7 and 9 cubic meters respectively, for distribution of drinking water.

As a reminder, pro-Russian militants continue shelling the areas around Donetsk filtration plant, which supplies water to Avdiivka and surrounding settlements.

Repair works cannot be carried out for the past 6 days, since militants refuse to provide security guarantees.
