Multiple Russian air strikes hit residential buildings in Donetsk towns, death toll rises to 5, 12 wounded
Russians killed a total of five people and injured twelve in their attacks on the Donetsk Oblast on March 12, 2025, Vadym Filashkin, head of Donetsk Oblast Military Administration, reported.
“At around 11:00 am, the Russians attacked the city of Pokrovsk, killing a 38-year-old man and damaging an administrative building. At approximately the same time, the city of Myrnohrad was hit, killing two people and injuring one,” Filashin wrote.
Around 15:00–16:00, the Russians dropped 11 bombs on the town of Kostiantynivka, killing two people and injuring eight. Numerous residential houses and high-rise buildings were damaged.
Additionally, the Russians attacked the town of Druzhkivka three times with air bombs, injuring three people, including two children aged eight and nine. Thirty-two properties were damaged, including high-rise buildings, houses, a residential complex and vehicles.
The Donetsk Oblast Prosecutor’s Office reported that it initiated criminal procedures for war crimes under Article 438.1.2 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code.

President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan has welcomed Ukraine’s accepting a 30-day ceasefire with Russia after talks with US officials yesterday.
Speaking to journalists in Kyiv, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy asserted that neither he as president nor Ukrainian citizens would violate the country’s Constitution. He stressed that Ukraine would continue to uphold its sovereignty and independence while defending its people and territory.
He acknowledged the immense difficulty of resisting such a powerful adversary but reiterated that Ukraine was fighting for independence. He firmly stated that the country would not recognize any occupied territories as belonging to the Russian Federation, calling this an undeniable fact.
Zelenskyy also emphasized that Ukrainians had fought for their land, with many heroes having lost their lives and numerous others having been injured. Given these sacrifices, he insisted that no one would forget what had happened.
He underscored that this was Ukraine’s most important red line and vowed that the country would not allow the world to forget this crime against Ukraine.
