The checkpoint on the demarcation line in the ATO in Zaitseve (67km north-north-east of Donetsk) has been temporarily closed.

This is reported by the ATO press center.

According to the press center, the checkpoint was closed because of the intensification of fighting in the area.

Due to the fact that the enemy intensified shelling of Zaitseve during the night and used mortars to shoot from different firing positions, the ATO commanders in Donetsk and Luhansk regions were forced to announce the temporary closing of the entry-exit checkpoint ‘Zaitseve’ to ensure the safety of residents,” reads the statement.

As the checkpoint in Zaitseve is closed, the people will be able to legally cross the demarcation line at only four checkpoints.

The human rights activists earlier reported that nearly 10,000 people had crossed each of three checkpoints in the ATO area every day.
