The activists have started to block the movement of trucks with Russian number plates heading to the border in Zakarpattia, Lviv, Volyn regions.

The action has been organized by the Automaidan of Ukraine, Radio Liberty reports. It was also joined by other organizations, the Right Sector in particular.

According to the police of Volyn region, about fifty activists are blocking the trucks with Russian number plates on the road Domanovo-Kovel-Chernivtsi-Terebleche outside Horniaky village, Ratniv district.

In Lviv region, according to the police, about twenty activists are blocking the trucks in the segment of the international Kyiv-Chop highway in the village of Koniukhyv, Stryi district.

As stated on Facebook page of the Right Sector’s mobile operational headquarters, the roadblocks were set at the entrance to Zakarpattia region in Volovets district near Nyzhni Vorota village on the Kyiv-Chop highway.

We, as the Ukrainian nationalists, have joined blocking of movement of Russian trucks. If the so-called authorities cooperate with the Russian enemy and have common financial interests with it, we, as the people of Ukraine, must take the lead,” they explain the purpose of the action.

As Oleh Slobodian, the aide to the Chairman of the State Border Guarder Service of Ukraine, press secretary, said to Interfax news agency, the trucks are being blocked at a certain distance from the checkpoints “causing accumulation of trucks, but there are no lines of passenger vehicles.”

Poland and Russia have not allowed trucks of each other to enter their territories since February 1. The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Construction of Poland failed to agree on the extension of permits for transportation companies for 2016. The Russian carriers have decided to go to Europe through the territories of Belarus and Ukraine.
