List of candidates for position of chief of National Bureau of Investigation contains infamous persons

The list of candidates for position of the chief of the National Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine contains a number of infamous persons who may be involved in corruption activity.

This is reported by Ukrayinska Pravda online newspaper with reference to the list posted on the government website.

Acting Prosecutor of Kyiv Oleh Valendiuk, who fell under lustration but remained in office due to court judgments, could be named among such persons.

Valendiuk is also known for his signature under the collective complaint of former Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin about former Deputy Prosecutor General Davit Sakvarelidze.

As Roman Maselko, the lawyer of Automaidan activists, says, the inactivity of the Kyiv Prosecutor’s Office was one of the reasons for the collapse of case of infamous judge Vladyslav Lysenko.

Two current deputies of Valendiuka – Oleksandr Buriak and Anatoly Korzh, are among the candidates as well.

The controversial figures also include Deputy Education Minister Roman Hreba, who also applied for the post of member of the Central Election Commission.

Among other candidates for position of the chief of the National Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine are: former head of the Main Investigation Department of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Vovk, head of the Special Investigations Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine Serhiy Horbatiuk, former head of Interpol in Ukraine and former MP Kyrylo Kulykov, Chief Military Prosecutor Anatoly Matios and others.
