Russian de facto authorities in Sevastopol, Crimea, have banned to hold rallies in the city center. The reason was nearby location of the secure facilities and the “office” of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

As Sevastopol News newspaper reports, the activists plan to hold a rally “The order of Sevastopol residents to candidates for Russian State Duma members” on July 22. About 500 people were expected to attend the event.

The “internal policy department” of Sevastopol reported that “… there are a number of facilities with a special mode of operation, including the office of the President in the Crimean Federal District and the technical department of the Russian Black Sea Fleet at the Nakhimov Square. It is not recommended to hold public events there to avoid disruption.”

The activists were offered three other places for holding the rally to choose from, but they call such restrictions unreasonable.
