Boris Nemtsov’s report about Russia’s participation in the conflict in Donbass, which he worked on shortly before his death, has been presented in Russia.
According to Ukrayinska Pravda, the report, titled “Putin. War,” was presented by the opposition leaders Ilya Yashin and Mikhail Kasyanov.
The presentation was attended by representatives of major world media. There was virtually no free space in the hall, with people standing in the aisles. A copy of the printed version of the report was distributed to every media outlet.
During the presentation of the report, Yashin noted that the materials consist of several sections: Crimea, Donbass, the recruitment of mercenaries, Chechen fighters, etc.
According to Yashin, “all of the serious military successes by separatists were achieved with the participation of units of the Russian army.”
“The massive intervention of the Russian army forced President Petro Poroshenko to negotiate with the separatists in Minsk. But, the separatists in Minsk are in truth represented by Putin,” summed Yashin.
The full version of the report can be found here.
Nemtsov’s teammates were assisted in their information gathering effort by people representing relatives of dead Russian soldiers, who are not being paid the promised compensation. According to one version of events, Nemtsov could have been killed because of his work on this report.
