Crimean Avdet newspaper loses office, journalists work at home
The staff of the Crimean Tatar Avdet newspaper, which has lost its office, is working at home in the Russian-annexed Crimea.
First Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Nariman Dzhelial said this in a commentary to Crimea.Realities portal.
“There are no premises so far. Each employee writes for Avdet at home. The editorial staff works discretely,” he said.
According to him, it is still unknown where the meetings of the Simferopol department of Mejlis, which was located at the same premises, will be held.
Dzhelial noted that Avdet’s staff will not go to court as the premises formally belong to the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Crimea and Sevastopol.
He added that this was the second attempt to oust the regional Mejlis department and the newspaper’s office from the premises over the past six months.
