The rally of the civic platform “Dignity and Truth” is being held on the Great National Assembly Square in downtown Chișinău, Moldova.

According to the Yevropeiska Pravda (European Truth) Ukraine’s media outlet, tens of thousands of anti-government protesters took to the streets of the capital on Sunday. The protesters spent the night on the square, having set up tents in front of the government building. According to the Newsmaker media outlet, more than fifty tents have been already set up on the square.

On Sunday evening, it was announced that the rally was over and the tent encampment was set up to continue the protest activities. The encampment is guarded by the veterans of the law enforcement agencies. Meanwhile, the hundreds of police officers are staying near the government building.

Yesterday, the clashes among the police and the Antifa movement representatives occurred near the building of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Moldova. The “Popular Mobilization” movement activists Grigory Petrenko, Pavel Grigorchuk, Mikhail Amberberg and Alexander Roshko were detained. The police detained a group of protesters for 72 hours after they had announced the start of peaceful protest in front of the building of the General Prosecutor’s Office.

The protest action is directed against the current government, which, according to the organizers, is responsible for the socio-economic crisis in the country. The organizers say that the protest action may be ongoing, and call for establishment of the government of national trust, resignation of the president, and early parliamentary elections.
