The European Alliance of News Agencies condemns the murder of Ukrinform journalist Tatiana Kulyk
The European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA) has expressed its sorrow and outrage over the death of Ukrinform journalist Tatiana Kulyk from a night attack by Russian drones in Irpin, in the Kyiv Oblast, on the night of February 26, 2025.

The alliance noted that Tatiana Kulyk’s colleagues at Ukrinform consider invaluable her dedication to journalism and her desire to highlight the resilience and heroism of Ukrainians.
“The loss of Tetiana Kulyk is a profound tragedy, not only for her family and colleagues at Ukrinform but also when considering the fact that she was actually a civilian, in her own home, struck by a drone. We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues in Ukrinform. This dramatic incident underscores the horrors of the war waged by Russia in Ukraine, which has taken so many innocent lives. I hope this was not a targeted attack against the Ukrinform journalist”, said EANA Secretary General Alexandru Giboi.
The EANA expressed solidarity with Ukrinform and all journalists who risk their lives for the sake of truthful reporting. They also called for strengthening measures to protect media workers and bringing to justice those who commit violence against journalists.
Tetiana Kulyk was the author and host of the Nation of Invincibles project and the editor-in-chief of the Main Multimedia Editorial Office.
She previously worked as the editor-in-chief of the public affairs program department and a host of the Central Channel (KDTRK), the World Service of Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine, and a TV presenter at Public Broadcasting. She was a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine.
She studied at the National University of Culture and Arts. She started her career as a literary editor. In 2015-2017, she was the deputy director of Khreshchatyk 26, a branch of the National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine Kyiv Regional Directorate, where she was the author and host of the Ukrainian Club series of television programs.
