Euromaidan case: Ministry of Defense destroyed register of secret calls
General Prosecutor’s Office states that the Ministry of Defense destroyed the register of secret telephone conversations of its leadership during Revolution of Dignity.
As reported by Ukrainian News, this was stated, on January 31, in the judgment in the case, which is investigated by General Prosecutor’s Office.
The resolution states that the General Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the circumstances of the so-called anti-terroristic organization, which was carried out on February 18-19, 2014, by the Security Service of Ukraine and Ministry of Internal Affairs in the center of Kyiv.
“Pre-trial investigation found out that forces and means of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were involved for the preparation and carrying out planned illegal anti-terroristic organization in the central part of Kyiv. Former heads of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces used open and closed communication tools for communication between themselves and organization of use of forces and means in January-February 2014”, – said in the judgment.
According to it, telephone calls were registered in log books on the commutators of open and secure communication.
In a letter of the military unit A0106 of the Ministry of Defense of January 13, 2017, which is attacked to the case, said that the log book of communications from the commutator of open communications is available, but at the same time log book of secure communication was destroyed.
“Log book of communications, which was documented in 2014 on the commutator of secure communication is already destroyed”, – said in a letter.
As a reminder, in October 2015, General Prosecutor’s Office opened criminal proceedings on the facts of the deliberate breakdown of a case of crimes against Euromaidan activists.
On January 19, General Prosecutor’s Office transferred indictments against six former Kyiv policemen to the court, on charges of crimes against Euromaidan activists.
