Another former head of the Interior Ministry is suspected with respect to the Maidan case
Prosecutor General’s Office suspects former Deputy Chief of the Public Safety Department – Chief of the Interior Ministry in preventing meetings, rallies, marches and demonstrations during Euromaidan, PGU press service informed.
According to the press service, he is suspected of providing unlawful benefits in the amount of $ 30 mln for abusing power by the special units of the Interior Minister of Ukraine between December 2013 and February 2014.
In particular, police actively opposed protests using excessive force and special means.
The report indicates that during a search of the suspect, police found three firearms and a large amount of ammunition, computers, and documents containing information proving facts and circumstances established during this criminal proceeding.
Currently, the Prosecutor considers taking a preventive measure.
