Nadiya Savchenko intends to establish committee for release of Ukrainian political prisoners

Nadiya Savchenko, the member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the PACE, will initiate the establishment of a committee for release of Ukrainian political prisoners held in the Russian Federation.

Savchenko stated this during a round-table meeting in the PACE in Strasbourg on Tuesday, BBC Ukraine reports.

I am establishing a committee for release of Ukrainian political prisoners held now in the Russian Federation. I propose that the world politicians should join this committee,” Savchenko said.

According to her, the list of people, who need help and who must be fight for, will be constantly updated in the course of the committee’s work.

As a reminder, according to the Ukrainian human rights activists, at least 29 citizens of Ukraine, including 15 Crimean Tatars, are still held in Russian prisons after Nadiya Savchenko, Hennadiy Afanasyev and Yuri Soloshenko were released.
