Russians hits Zaporizhzhia bus hub, injuring 23 civilians (updated)
Russian military struck a bus station in Zaporizhzhia, wounding 23 people, according to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Military Administration.
“Early reports indicate that two people have been injured in an enemy strike on a transport infrastructure facility,” he stated.
Fedorov said Russian forces used guided aerial bombs for two strikes on Zaporizhzhia.
“Rescue workers are clearing the rubble. Early reports indicate that people may still be trapped under the rubble,” he said.
The second strike hit the university clinic of Zaporizhzhia Medical University. No one was injured there, but the attacks damaged the healthcare facility buildings.
The injured sustained multiple blast injuries to their limbs, heads, and abdomens. The 12 people wounded included men aged 24, 38, 39, 41, and 56, and women aged 25 and 77. Doctors assessed their condition as moderate.

By 7:59 p.m., the injury count reached 19.
Fedorov also reported that the bombardment damaged seven apartment blocks and non-residential facilities, shattering windows and damaging roofs throughout the buildings.
On August 10, Fedorov reported that the number of people injured in the Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia had risen to 23. According to him, a 25-year-old woman had been taken to the hospital with a concussion. She received the help she needed and will continue treatment as an outpatient.
On the morning of August 11, another injured person, a 44-year-old woman, also sought medical help.
Commenting on this war crime committed by Russia, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in his evening address, noted, “everyone sees that there is not a single real step from Russia towards peace, not a single step on the ground or in the air that could save lives.”
He therefore called for sanctions and pressure on Russia from the United States, Europe, and other countries.
“If Russia does not want to stop the war, then its economy must be stopped,” the President stressed.
At the same time, he remarked that he greatly values “the determination with which President Trump is set on stopping the deaths in the war.”
Zelenskyy added that “the only root cause of these killings is Putin’s desire to fight and manipulate everyone he comes into contact with.”
Meanwhile, BBC News reported that a White House official has said that U.S. President Donald Trump is willing to hold a trilateral meeting in Alaska on August 15, which would also include Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. However, for now, it remains a Trump-Putin summit, as the Russian leader initially requested.
Speaking on Friday, Trump also suggested that Moscow and Kyiv would need to swap territories in order to reach an agreement, to which Zelensky reacted strongly.
“We will not reward Russia for what it has perpetrated,” the Ukrainian President said. “Any decisions against us, any decisions without Ukraine, are also decisions against peace.”
“The Russians… still impose the idea of ‘exchanging’ Ukrainian territory for Ukrainian territory, with consequences that guarantee nothing but more convenient positions for the Russians to resume the war,” he added defiantly.
CBS has reported that the White House is trying to sway European allies to accept an agreement that would include Russia taking the entire Donbas region in eastern Ukraine and keeping the Crimean Peninsula.
In a statement released late Saturday night, the European leaders stressed that “international borders must not be changed by force.”
“Ukraine has the freedom of choice over its own destiny,” they said, stressing that their nations would continue to support Ukraine diplomatically, militarily, and financially.
