Russian strikes kill at least 10, injure 39 across Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia on June 29 (updated)
Russian strikes on Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia on June 29 killed at least nine people and injured at least 27 others, including a child, according to local authorities.
“The enemy has struck Dnipro. A private company has been damaged. Early reports indicate that there are casualties,” Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration, stated.
He also reported that 28 people are known to have been injured.
“Five people are in a critical condition – they are men aged 22, 33, 54, 58 and 59,” Hanzha said.
He also said that Russians damaged private enterprise.
Hanzha said later that a man who sustained critical injuries died in the hospital, bringing the death toll from this attack to five.
At 6:30 p.m., Hanzha reported that the death toll from this attack has risen to six, and 29 people have been injured.
“The death toll from the attack on Dnipro has risen to six. A business, a college, houses and vehicles in the city have been damaged. Twenty-nine people have been injured,” he reported.
Update: The next day after the Russian strike on Dnipro, Hanzha reported that the death toll had risen to seven after one of the injured died in the hospital on the morning of 30 June.
“A 59-year-old man who suffered serious injuries during yesterday’s enemy attack on Dnipro died in the hospital this morning. Doctors did everything they could, but sadly did not manage to save him,” he said and added that the Russian missile strike had claimed the lives of six men and one woman in Dnipro.
In addition, six people were also injured in the Nikopol District in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. A 72-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman were injured in an overnight attack on the Piatykhatky “hromada,” a local government area that includes one or more nearby settlements.
Meanwhile, Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Head Ivan Fedorov stated that Russians killed three people and injured six others, including a child, in a Russian strike on a passenger minibus in Zaporizhzhia on the afternoon of June 29, 2026.
Later that day, Fedorov reported another strike by Russian forces with a drone. The Russian drone exploded near the passenger bus. The attack injured four passengers, all of whom are receiving the necessary medical care.
Human rights organisations and Ukrainian authorities emphasise that structural economic pressure remains a key tool to halt such atrocities. They urge every nation and individual government worldwide to strictly enforce global sanctions, close existing regulatory loopholes, and completely sever remaining commercial and technological ties with the Russian Federation. Civil society groups stress that any continued cooperation by foreign businesses directly contributes to the resources Moscow uses to sustain its ongoing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Ukraine.
