Russian strikes kill 317 civilian energy workers over four years of war
At least 317 civilian employees of energy companies have been killed as a result of Russian military strikes during the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Energy Ministry reported.
The ministry announced the casualties on the Day of Remembrance for Fallen Energy Workers on 11 September.
“Exactly four years ago, the war claimed the lives of our colleagues for the first time – they were killed at their workplaces during a massive missile strike on energy facilities,” Ukrenergo stated.
Many energy workers have also joined the military, and at least 1,813 have been killed during their service.
To provide background, in more than four years of the full-scale war, Russian forces have killed more than 16,800 and injured over 51,200 civilians alone in Ukraine.

Despite U.S. President Donald Trump’s promise, the war in Ukraine has not ended 24 hours after his inauguration. His further attempts to facilitate an unconditional ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine have also failed.
