NSDC stopped the transfer of cargo across the contact line in Donbas

National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine decided to stop the movement of cargo across the contact line in Donbas.

As reported by the web-site of the NSDC, this was stated by Oleksandr Turchynov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

“Recognizing the sharp escalation of Russian aggression against Ukraine, the forcible seizure of Ukrainian enterprises, which are located on the territory of certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, realizing the aggravation of threats to economic and energy security of Ukraine provoked by conscious actions of terrorists and considering the fact that the Russian Federation began to recognize “documents” of the self-proclaimed republics on the state level. Due to all these threats and with aim of protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens of Ukraine and ensuring national security of Ukraine, the NSDC decided: to temporary stop the movement of cargo across the contact line, until the execution of paragraphs 1-2 of the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements of February 12, 2015, and until the return of the captured enterprises to Ukrainian jurisdiction”, – said Turchynov after the meeting.

According to him, Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is charged with urgently developing and introducing a plan of measures to ensure and reliable functioning of the fuel and energy and metallurgical complex of Ukraine, as well as to analyze the negative impact on the economy and budget of the country and take measures to minimize them.

“The Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, with the participation of the Security Service of Ukraine, are instructed to immediately stop the motorway and railway movement of cargo across the contact line. As well as to create conditions for attracting public control to implementation of this decision”, – added the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

As reported by the Ukrayinska Pravda (Ukrainian Truth), Turchynov also stated that at 13:00 on Wednesday all motorways and railways leading to the delimitation line.

As reported by the Economichna Pravda (Economic Truth), at the same time, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council said that sample echelons with Ukrainian coal from the occupied territories have already gone to the Russian Federation.

“They can easily get everything they need from the Russian Federation, as well as sell whatever they want there, through the hundreds of kilometers, which are not controlled by Ukraine, of the Ukrainian-Russian border”, – said Poroshenko.

The President also expressed the opinion that in the month and a half the blockade has not drew closer, but delayed the prospect of returning these territories. “They did not strengthen, but weakened Ukrainian influence on the other side of the contact line”, – said Poroshenko.
