President signed law on free education for children from the occupied territories

President Petro Poroshenko signed the law, which provides for a full or partial payment of education of children living in the occupied territories and near the contact line.

As reported by the President’s press service.

“The document is aimed at strengthening state support in obtaining education in State and local educational institutions for the corresponding category of people residing in the temporary occupied territories and in settlements near the contact line”, – said in a statement.

The law “On Amendments to Some Laws of Ukraine on Strengthening Social Protection of Persons Residing on the Temporarily Occupied Territories and in the Settlements on the Line of Contact” also, in particular, provides free schoolbooks, scholarship support and free accommodation in dormitories. These measures and conditions of their provision will be determined by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

The support will be implemented as a part of State target programme and a range of arrangements.
