Officer of PGO’s reform department kept out of work
Freelance officer of the reform department at the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine (PGO) Maryna Tsapok cannot get to work.
According to her, Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin has instructed the guards not to allow her to enter the premises till he gives new orders.
As she wrote on her Facebook page, the incident had occurred a few days before President Petro Poroshenko asked the Prosecutor General to resign. Then she could not get to work. She does not know the reasons for that.
She was allowed to enter after Shokin had written a letter of resignation. However, the situation repeated in a few days and she was not allowed to get to work again.
“It looked more than absurd as I had to appoint the meetings with the PGO’s officers, whom we are implementing the joint projects with, in the cafe next door. There we held workshops with the reform department team,” she said.
As a reminder, Viktor Shokin has frequently been slammed by the media and activists because of the slow reform of the prosecutor’s office and the virtual absence of tangible results in the investigation into the crimes committed during the Maidan protests, the corruption cases as well as the cases against individuals on the EU’s sanctions list.
