The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine has submitted to court the indictment against a former police officer who committed illegal actions against peaceful protesters during Euromaidan.

This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office on Monday.

The Special Investigations Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office submitted to the court the indictment against a former investigator of one of the district police department in Kyiv, who is charged with fabrication of the case files, illegal detention and criminal prosecution of a known to be innocent person for alleged involvement in the riots on February 18, 2014.

The investigative judge chose a personal commitment as a pre-trial restriction for the suspect.

As for the other accomplices in those crimes, the pre-trial investigation is ongoing in the separate proceedings, the press service noted.

Currently, the issue is being solved and evidences are gathered to hold criminally liable other accomplices in those criminal offenses (employees of law enforcement agencies, prosecutors and judges) and the mastermind behind the crimes.
