New Ukrainian online platform offers medical, legal resources for transgender transition
PEREHID.HUB, a centralised information platform on transgender transition, has launched in Ukraine. The resource is designed to support transgender individuals, their loved ones, medical professionals, social workers and journalists. The online platform was presented during Trans Forum 2026, which took place in Kyiv on June 5–7, ZMINA correspondent reported.

The platform launched just ahead of the forum. It is an initiative by Resistance, an NGO dedicated to protecting the rights of transgender people and supporting them. The site’s content is grounded in current legislation and evidence-based medicine.
Until now, Ukraine lacked a single resource offering comprehensive information on transitioning. People were forced to search for answers on social media, in chats, on forums, and on blogs. Often, this information was outdated or incomplete.
“I began my transition in 2016. Back then, there wasn’t much information available about transgender issues; you had to search for it on forums because social media platforms weren’t as developed,” said Lev Tierekhov, the web designer who developed the platform. “The situation is much better now, but you still often have to piece together information through personal contacts, in chats and across various media outlets.”
He noted that PEREHID.HUB (perehidhub.org) was created to consolidate knowledge, experience and practical information. The platform will share information about rights, opportunities and processes related to transgender issues, the transition process and supporting transgender people.
The platform is designed for a diverse target audience:
- Transgender people of various identities
- Parents, partners and loved ones of transgender individuals
- Psychologists, doctors and social workers
- Human rights defenders and activists
- Researchers
- Journalists
- Anyone interested in understanding transgender issues in Ukraine
“Say you meet a guy at work, your new colleague. He has never heard of transgender issues, but he’s curious – he can visit the platform and learn about it,” the web developer explained.
The platform will publish informational articles, step-by-step guides on the various stages of transition (medical, social and legal), and a directory of useful resources and services. This includes links to information sources, available support options for transgender individuals and their loved ones, and contact details for specialists knowledgeable about transgender issues. It will also feature a Q&A section, a myths-and-facts page, and a blog.
ZMINA previously reported that the queer-feminist organisation Bilkis released the second issue of a magazine dedicated to gender-based violence against lesbians.
ZMINA also reported that a draft law recodifying the Civil Code (No. 15150), registered in parliament on April 9, 2026, contains provisions that discriminate against LGBTQ+ people. Specifically, de facto partnerships will only be recognised between a man and a woman. Furthermore, if a person changes their gender marker, their marriage could be invalidated; such an annulment could be initiated by the partners themselves or by third parties, even after the death of one of the partners.
