MFA of Ukraine is outraged by the French politician in support of the annexation of Crimea
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine revolted when Marine Le Pen, one of the candidates for the election campaign in France, expressed support of the temporary occupation of and attempt of annexation of Autonomous Republic of Crimea by Russia.
As reported in the statement of Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The statement notes that the actions of aggressor state were strongly condemned by all civilized countries of the world, as confirmed by the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly of 2014 and 2016, as well as numerous decisions and documents of the EU, NATO and Council of Europe. France, together with other partners of Group of Seven and the European Union, imposed sanctions against Russia in response to the criminal actions of the Kremlin. The abolition of these sanctions is possible only after the termination of the Russian aggression towards Ukraine and de-occupation of the Crimea and Donbas.
“By making the statements that repeat the Kremlin propaganda, the French politician shows disrespect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and completely ignores the fundamental principles of international law”, – says in the statement of Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminded that such statements and actions in violation of the Ukrainian legislation, will necessarily have consequences, as it was in the case of French politicians, who have been denied the entry to Ukraine.
“Ukraine expects that the French public will give principled assessment of such irresponsible of one of the candidates for president of France”, – said in a statement.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hopes that France will continue to be an important partner of Ukraine and will help in the fight against the Russian aggression.
