Kyivstar, Vodafone, lifecell and Triolan have already blocked Russian networks
Leading Ukraine mobile carriers Kyivstar, Vodafone-Ukraine and lifecell, as well as a telecommunications provider have already blocked access to all Russian websites that are on the sanctions list of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (RNBO).

“Access to all Russian websites, which are on the sanctions list, has been blocked”, – stated in the press-service of the Kyivstar on May 18.
The press-service of Vodafone-Ukraine has clarified that at the moment the carrier has blocked the largest Russian websites that are on the sanctions list, in particular, Mail.ru services and social networks Vkontakte and Odnoklassniki.
The mobile carrier lifecell and the telecommunications provider Triolan reported that on May 19 the users’ access to all Russian websites, which are on the sanctions list, has been blocked.
As reported by General Director of the Triolan Vadym Sidorenko in the commentary to the Interfax-Ukraine, the company decided not to wait for recommendations regarding the possible options for closing access and to operate by methods that are available to the carrier.
“At 10:00 am on Friday we closed access to all resources that are on the sanctions list”, – he said.
lifecell – is the third largest mobile phone carrier in Ukraine. Its active subscriber base at the end of the first quarter of 2017 was about 8.9 million subscribers.
Triolan – is a telecommunications provider founded in 2008. Works in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Odessa, Sumy, Zaporizhia, Rivne. The number of clients of the provider is about 300 thousand people.
Earlier, experts have pointed out that the access to social networks will remain through mobile apps.
As a reminder, on May 15, 2017, President Petro Poroshenko signed a decree that introduced the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to update the list of sanctions against a number of Russian companies, including Aeroflot, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, Yandex and a number of media resources.
